This is a test implementation of voter-funded media on Vancouver municipal issues, with emphasis on the November 2008 election. Unlike the competitions we've sponsored at UBC:
- this project is independent of the city government;
- there is no entry fee; anyone can suggest adding a media/blog to the list.

WEEKLY VOTING & AWARD CYCLE

Please vote once a week. We tally your votes and update the rankings every Monday afternoon/evening.

Awards total $300/week: 1st place $100, 2nd $80, 3rd $60, 4th $40, 5th $20. If a winner waives an award, their prize and those below shift to the next position down.

You're welcome to comment (e.g. suggest new blogs to add) on the VoterMedia blog, especially the posts "Weekly Award Cycle" and "Which [blogs] should we vote for?"

The ranked voting system design for the Vancouver ballot is based on the Condorcet system we're now using at UBC (see tally matrix).

We hope the city of Vancouver will one day fund and administer a competition like this, with a secure login for each voter.
