1. SHAREHOLDER PROPOSALS BEING DRAFTED:
I plan to put forward shareholder proposals at several major
corporations next year, to have independent proxy voting
advice paid for by the company. This will improve corporate
governance for the benefit of investors, as explained in the
articles on our Publications page
( http://www.corpmon.com/publications.htm ), in particular
"Collective Action for Dispersed Shareowners"
( http://www.corpmon.com/CollectiveAction.htm ), forthcoming
in the Hong Kong journal Corporate Governance International.
I invite like-minded investors to join me in drafting and
proposing these resolutions, and of course in voting for them!

2. THE INTERNET WILL DRIVE CORPORATE MONITORING:
The internet is eliminating the two main obstacles to the
exercise of voting power by individual investors: cumbersome
paperwork and lack of information. The company-pay system
for proxy voting advice will fuel this trend by making
professional independent recommendations freely available.
Already CalPERS and Domini are posting their voting decisions
on the web -- see the new voting guide for individual
investors at http://www.corpmon.com/Vote.htm .
These and future developments are presented in
"The Internet Will Drive Corporate Monitoring"
( http://www.corpmon.com/IntCM.htm ), featured in the
September 1999 issue of the UK newsletter Governance.
